CCDHH offers a variety of resources and trainings for state and local governments, private business, community organizations, and persons who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind. All trainings are customized to provide the most pertinent information to each group. Training topics include:

  • Demographics
  • Employment data for adults who are deaf and hard-of-hearing
  • Application of best-practices trainings/consultations;
  • How to create culturally affirmative and linguistically accessible environments while remaining in compliance with ADA regulations;
  • American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture;
  • Deaf History
  • Working with available CART and/or interpreter services;
  • The use of technology for communication access.
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act
    • Title I –Employment, Reasonable Accommodations
    • Title II – State & Local Governments, Effective Communication
    • Title III – Businesses (For Profit and Non-profit), Effective Communication
    • Title IV – Telecommunications
  • Sections 501, 503, 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation
  • Telecommunications Act
  • Colorado Consumer and Protection Act, Title 6;
  • Consultations provided on policies and procedures (on-site);
  • Consultations and referrals for education, mediation, and the complaint process (on-site or referrals).
  • Effective communication/employment rights as a person who is deaf, hard of hearing or deaf-blind under the Americans with Disabilities Act;
  • How to provide incentives for access to communication
